Our aim

We want everyone to be able to take the quiz, read about the flowers and use every tool on this site, whether they use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom, or prefer less motion.

The standard we follow

We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the level the European standard EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act refer to. We believe the site meets it, with the limits listed below.

What we did

Among other things:

  • Every page and the whole quiz work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring.
  • Pages have landmarks, one main heading and a skip link; forms have labels, and errors are announced and linked to their field.
  • Text and controls meet the contrast levels in light and dark mode; buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels.
  • Pages work when zoomed to 400 percent and on a 320 pixel wide screen.
  • Motion is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion, and the see-through glass becomes solid when it asks for reduced transparency.
  • The flower drawings are decoration and are hidden from screen readers; results and charts are given as text.

Known limits

We know of these, and are working on them:

  • The audio chapters are not recorded yet. Each one will have a written transcript when it is published.
  • The share card is an image. Everything on it is also written on the result page, and the image has a text description.
  • The QR sheet is meant for print and is not linked from the site.

How we test

Every page is checked automatically with axe in our tests on every change, in light and dark mode. We also test by hand with VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, NVDA on Windows, and with a keyboard only.
